16-year-old Ty’Sean Rollins found fatally shot in apartment building hallway in East Chatham


Sixteen-year-old Tysean D. Rollins Smith was shot to death early Tuesday in the East Chatham neighborhood on the South Side.

Tysean was found unresponsive at 1:07 a.m. in the hallway of an apartment building in the 800 block of East 83rd Street, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He had been shot in the chest and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 1:52 a.m., authorities said.

He lived in the 8000 block of South Ingleside.
