16-year-old Antwan McBee dies hours after being shot in car in Woodlawn

Sixteen-year-old Antwan McBee died seven hours after he was shot Saturday in the South Side Woodlawn neighborhood.

At 4:47 p.m., the boy was in a car in the 6300 block of South Stony Island Avenue when another car pulled up and someone inside fired shots, according to the Chicago Police and Cook County medical examiner’s office.

McBee, of the 4800 block of South Prairie Avenue, was shot in the head and shoulder, and took himself to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he died at midnight Saturday, authorities said.
