Matthew Ehrenberg was fatally shot in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood Friday night on the Northwest Side.
Emergency crews responded about 9:45 p.m. to a shooting in the 4500 block of West Deming, where they found 37-year-old Ehrenberg unresponsive inside a home, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He had suffered gunshot wounds to the armpit.
Ehrenberg, who lived in the same block, was dead at the scene, authorities said.
Police are conducting a homicide investigation.
