Edward Flowers of west suburban Cicero was shot to death early Monday in the West Side Austin neighborhood.
The shooting happened about 12:30 a.m. in the 500 block of South Cicero, Chicago Police said. He was found outside the back door of a business.
The 42-year-old Flowers was shot in the upper torso and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:45 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He lived in the 5700 block of West Roosevelt in Cicero.
An autopsy found he died of a gunshot wound to the back and his death was ruled a homicide.
Police said potential witnesses have been uncooperative.
