Edward Flowers of Cicero fatally shot in Austin

Edward Flowers of west suburban Cicero was shot to death early Monday in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

The shooting happened about 12:30 a.m. in the 500 block of South Cicero, Chicago Police said. He was found outside the back door of a business.

The 42-year-old Flowers was shot in the upper torso and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:45 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He lived in the 5700 block of West Roosevelt in Cicero.

An autopsy found he died of a gunshot wound to the back and his death was ruled a homicide.

Police said potential witnesses have been uncooperative.

Friends have set up a special Facebook page, RIP Edward FLowers (Pot), to share memories of the man they called “Pot.”
