Ronald Thomas fatally stabbed in his South Loop apartment and police have woman in custody

Ronald Thomas was stabbed to death Wednesday night in what police called a domestic incident in his South Loop apartment, and a suspect is in custody.

Thomas, 27, was stabbed in the chest during an argument with his wife or girlfriend at 8:40 p.m. in his apartment in the 2100 block of South Michigan Avenue, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:24 p.m., authorities said.

Police said the stabbing was a domestic-related homicide and the 29-year-old woman was in custody. Charges were pending Thursday morning.
