Woman found beaten to death in Back of the Yards alley identified as Kimberly Schnackenberg

A woman found dead beaten to death in a Back of the Yards neighborhood alley nearly two weeks ago has been identified as 42-year-old Kimberly Schnackenberg, who lived on the bock where her body was found.

She was found about 1:30 a.m. April 22 in an alley in the 2000 block of West 51st Street, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Schnackenberg, who lived on that block, was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:48 a.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.

An autopsy found she died of multiple blunt force injuries to the head, and her death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Chicago Police said no one was in custody as of Thursday afternoon and the investigation is ongoing.
