15-year-old Ladarrius Jackson dies 10 days after being shot while walking in Englewood

Fifteen-year-old Ladarrius Jackson died early Monday, about 10 days after being shot in the Englewood neighborhood.

Jackson was walking in the 6800 block of South Sangamon about 8 p.m. April 29 when someone walked up and opened fire, striking him repeatedly in the leg and abdomen, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Family members said he was walking to visit his god brother who had just moved in nearby when he was shot 12 times.

Jackson was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he died at 4:05 a.m. Monday, authorities said. He lived in the 6900 block of South Elizabeth Street.

No arrests have been made for the shooting, police said Monday night.

A Crowd Rise page and a GoFundMe page have been started to help the family pay medical and funeral costs.
