Michael Cunningham and another man were killed when someone started shooting in East Garfield Park

Michael Cunningham and another men died after being shot Monday morning in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

The men were in the 3000 block of West Jackson at 11:47 a.m. when a gunman walked up, pulled out a gun and fired multiple times, according to Chicago Police.

Both men were shot multiple times and were taken to Stroger Hospital, police said.

Cunningham, 35, died at the hospital at 1:05 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He lived in the 4000 block of West Wilcox.

The other man, 26, was also taken to Stroger, where he was later pronounced dead, according to police and the medical examiner’s office. His name had not been released as of Tuesday afternoon.
