Gregory Carr fatally shot while walking near home in Park Manor

Twenty-year-old Gregory Carr was shot and killed in a drive-by Sunday afternoon near his home in the Park Manor neighborhood on the South Side.

Carr was walking down the street in the 6900 block of South Wabash about 4 p.m. when a dark SUV pulled up and someone inside opened fire, hitting him in upper body, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Carr, who lived in the 0–100 block of East 69th Street, was shot in the upper body, and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:45 p.m., authorities said.
