Paul Farlinger killed, second man wounded in drive-by shooting in Cragin

Paul Farlinger was shot to death and another man was injured in a drive-by shooting Friday afternoon in the Cragin neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

The victims were in the 2000 block of North Laporte at 2:42 p.m. when a vehicle approached and someone inside fired shots, according to Chicago Police.

Farlinger, 49, was struck in the abdomen and shoulder, and was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 3:24 p.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He lived in the 1800 block of South Loomis.

A 21-year-old man was shot in the ankle, and was taken in good condition to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, police said.
