The death of 2-month-old Katana Symone Greenlee last week in the Austin neighborhood has been ruled homicide by child abuse.

Officers responded to an unresponsive baby in the 800 block of North Waller about 9 a.m. Sunday, July 24, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Katana was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:09 a.m., according to the medical examiner’s office. Her home address was not known.

An autopsy found she died of blunt force trauma to the head caused by child abuse, and her death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Police said Tuesday morning the investigation was ongoing and no one was in custody.

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is investigating allegations of abuse and neglect, according to an agency spokeswoman. That investigation is pending, but DCFS would not say who was being investigated.
