Julius Coleman shot to death after getting out of a vehicle in Englewood

Eighteen-year-old Julius Maurice Coleman had just gotten out of a car when another car drove past and bullets started flying Tuesday afternoon in the Englewood neighborhood.

Coleman was on the street after getting dropped off at 2:07 p.m. in the 5600 block of South May when someone in a passing blue vehicle began shooting, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Coleman, of the 6000 block of South Green, was shot in the chest, and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:56 p.m., according to police and the medical examiner’s office.
