Man found shot to death in Austin identified as 24-year-old Ladrell Brown

A man shot to death early Sunday in the Austin neighborhood has been identified as 24-year-old Ladrell Brown.

Officers responding at 5:11 a.m. to a call of a person down in the 5200 block of West Ferdinand found Brown lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the chest, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Brown was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:41 a.m., authorities said. He lived in the 500 block of North Leclaire.

No one was in custody for the shooting as of Tuesday morning.
