Kendrick Thorton of west suburban Bellwood was shot to death in the West Garfield Park neighborhood Sunday afternoon.
Two other people walked up to the 22-year-old about 4:15 p.m. on a sidewalk near West End and Keystone avenues. At least one of them opened fire, striking him in the chest and abdomen, Chicago Police said.
Thorton was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:50 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He lived in the 1000 block of 24th Avenue in Bellwood.
An autopsy Monday found he died of multiple gunshot wounds.
