Tykina Ali was shot in a vehicle in the Little Village neighborhood Tuesday evening and died after being brought to a west suburban hospital, police said.
Ali, 20, was brought to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, where she was pronounced dead at 6:09 p.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. She lived in the 1600 block of West Ogden.
Police said she had been a passenger in a vehicle in the 2600 block of South Kedzie when someone in another vehicle nearby fired shots, striking her in the head, police said.
No one was in custody in connection with the shooting early Wednesday as Area Central detectives investigate. It was not known if she was the intended target.
