Police responding to a shooting found Cynthia D. Richardson with a fatal gunshot wound to the neck on the front lawn of a home in the West Englewood neighborhood early Saturday.
Officers responding to a call of a person shot just after 1 a.m. found the 54-year-old Richardson outside a home in the 5900 block of South Winchester. She had suffered a gunshot wound to the neck, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Richardson, who lived in the 2100 block of West 63rd Street, was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:30 a.m., authorities said.
Area South detectives have launched a homicide investigation.
