Adama Moye killed in drive-by shooting while sitting in car in Longwood Manor

Adama Moye was killed in a drive-by shooting Saturday night while sitting in a vehicle in the Longwood Manor neighborhood on the South Side.

Moye, 22, was sitting in a parked car about 10 p.m. in the first block of West 98th Street, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. A dark vehicle pulled alongside the car and someone inside fired shots.

Moye, of the 4900 block of South Dorchester, was shot in the chest and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 10:41 p.m., according to police and the medical examiner’s office.

He was the son of popular percussionist Famoudou Don Moye, who performed with the Art Ensemble of Chicago avant-garde quintet.
