After 24-year-old Thomas Smith was robbed Friday afternoon in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side, police say the robbers shot him. He died about 2 1/2 hours later.
Two people walked up to Smith shortly before 2 p.m. in the 7300 block of South Lowe, demanded his things, and then shot him in the abdomen, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Smith died at Stroger Hospital at 4:30 p.m., authorities said. He lived in the 9600 block of South Dobson.
