Rickey King shot to death when gunman opens fire on group in East Garfield Park

Rickey J. King was shot to death Sunday afternoon in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

At 1:52 p.m., the 37-year-old King was with a group when someone opened fire from across the the street in the 3800 block of West Adams, according to Chicago Police. The shooter then ran away southbound.

King, of the 8800 block of South Burley, was shot in the head, and was pronounced at the scene, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
