Gregory Thomas-Bell, 56, fatally shot while fighting with another man in Woodlawn

Fifty-six-year-old Gregory Thomas-Bell was killed in a shooting Saturday afternoon in the South Side Woodlawn neighborhood.

Witnesses told police they saw Thomsa-Bell and another man get into a fight at 3:38 p.m. in the 6600 block of South Kenwood, according to Chicago Police. Then they heard a gunshot.

Thomas-Bell was shot in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:47 p.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He lived in the 4300 block of South Greenwood.
