Man found fatally shot in East Garfield Park identified as 19-year-old Marqual Donell Bailey

A man who was shot to death early Thursday in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side has been identified 19-year-old Marqual Donell Bailey.

Officers responding to reports of shots fired at 1:16 a.m. found Bailey with gunshot wounds to the head and chest in the 300 block of South Whipple, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Bailey was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:32 a.m., according to the medical examiner’s office. He lived in the 3000 block of West Washington, just a few blocks from where he was shot.
