Antron Young of Naperville killed, 2 wounded when gunmen enter Parkway Gardens restaurant and start shooting

Antron T. Young was killed and two people were wounded in a shooting inside a restaurant early Sunday in the Parkway Gardens neighborhood on the South Side.

They were among the customers in Sammy’s Grill and Restaurant in the 6300 block of South King Drive at 3:07 a.m. when two people entered and started shooting, according to Chicago Police. The gunmen ran out after the shooting.

Young, 23, was shot in the face, and was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:15 a.m., police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. Known to friends as “Big A,” he lived in west suburban Naperville.

Two other men were wounded in the shooting and took themselves to St. Bernard Hospital, police said. The men, ages 22 and 24, were each shot once in the lower body and their conditions were stabilized.
