Christopher Johnson Jr. dies two days after being wounded in South Austin drive-by

Eighteen-year-old Christopher Johnson Jr. was was injured in a drive-by shooting Saturday afternoon in the South Austin, and died two days later.

A dark-colored car pulled up to Johnson about 5 p.m. in the 400 block of South Central Avenue, and someone inside shot him twice in the abdomen, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Johnson was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he died at 1:35 p.m. Monday, authorities said. He lived in the 7300 block of South Michigan.

No one was in custody for the attack as of early Tuesday as Area North detectives investigate.
