Justin Thomas was walking in the Far South Side Roseland neighborhood Tuesday night when someone shot him in the eye.
Just after 9 p.m., the 30-year-old Thomas was on the sidewalk in the 10000 block of South Michigan Avenue when someone in a dark-colored car opened fire, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Thomas, who lived in the Grand Crossing neighborhood, was hit in the left eye and was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:10 p.m., authorities said.
No one was in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
