After Terry Torrence called 911 to report a burglary in his West Pullman home, police found him shot to death

Terry D. Torrence called 911 to report a burglary in his West Pullman home early Saturday, but when police arrived, they found him shot to death in his doorway.

At 6:22 a.m., officers responded to the burglary report in the 11700 block of South Normal and found the 34-year-old Torrence dead, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Torrence had been shot in the head and buttocks, and was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

Area South detectives were investigating the events leading up to the shooting.
