A man who was fatally shot Friday evening in the South Chicago neighborhood has been identified as 21-year-old Timothy Shannon.
Officers responding to a call of a person shot just before 5 p.m. found Shannon unresponsive with a gunshot wound to his back in the 8700 block of South Saginaw Avenue, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Shannon, who lived in the South Side Woodlawn neighborhood, was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:12 p.m., authorities said. An autopsy found he died of multiple gunshot wounds.
Area South detectives were investigating.
