Ronnie Tyrone Smith Jr. was killed in a shooting near his home in the Englewood neighborhood late Tuesday that also left a man wounded.
The 17-year-old Smith Jr was standing in an alley with a 20-year-old man about 10:50 p.m. in the 5600 block of South Elizabeth. Another male walked up to them and fired shots, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Smith, who lived on the same block, suffered gunshot wounds to the chest and leg, and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:21 p.m., authorities said.
The man was shot in the right leg and was taken to St. Bernard Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
