A man who was fatally shot Sunday night in the Riverdale neighborhood on the Far South Side has been identified as 20-year-old Dorian Tompkins, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Tompkins was standing outside about 8 p.m. in the 13100 block of South Langley when several males walked up and fired shots, striking him in the chest, according to Chicago Police and the medical examiner’s office.
He was pronounced dead at the scene at 9 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office. His home address was not known. THe medical examiner’s office initially identified him as Dorian Phompkins.
Area South detectives were conducting a homicide investigation.
