Jacobie Lee James shot to death by two men in the Lawndale neighborhood where he lived

Jacobie Lee James was shot and killed Wednesday afternoon in the Lawndale neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

At 2:47 p.m., the 19-year-old James was standing in the 3800 block of West Ogden when a black vehicle pulled up, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Two people got out from the back of the vehicle and started shooting, police said. The vehicle then drove away.

James was shot in the head and chest, and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:11 p.m., authorities said. He lived in the same neighborhood as the shooting.
