Antone Jackson fatally shot during argument on block where he lived in South Chicago

Antone Jackson was shot to death Monday evening during an argument in the South Chicago neighborhood.

Jackson, 26, was involved in a disagreement with someone about 6:30 p.m. in the 7900 block of South Ridgeland, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The other person at some point pulled out a weapon and fired shots, police said.

Jackson suffered a gunshot wound to the body and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 7:27 p.m., authorities said.

He lived on the same block where he was killed.

Police were speaking with a person of interest Monday night, but no charges had been field as of Tuesday afternoon.
