Police were questioning a person of interest after 63-year-old Kelvin Harper was found stabbed to death Wednesday afternoon in his Washington Heights neighborhood home on the Far South Side.
Officers were called to an apartment about 1:45 p.m. in the 800 block of West 103rd Street, according to Chicago Police.
They found Harper unresponsive with multiple stab wounds, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, the medical examiner’s office said. An autopsy Thursday found he died of multiple injuries in an assault.
As of early Thursday, a person of interest was being questioned by Area South detectives, police said, but no charges had been filed.
The attack is believed to be domestic in nature, police said, though they did not provide further information.
