Gregory Johnson shot to death while arguing with another man in parking lot of Englewood gas station

A 27-year-old man shot to death late Saturday in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side has been identified as Gregory D. Johnson.

Johnson was in an argument with another man in the parking lot of a gas station in the 6600 block of South Halsted at 11:18 p.m., according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The suspect then pulled out a handgun and fired shots, police said.

Johnson suffered gunshot wounds to the right shoulder and right arm, and was taken to St. Bernard Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:29 p.m., authorities said. He lived about two blocks away from where he was killed.

No one was in custody early Monday as Area South detectives investigated.
