A man shot to death early Thursday in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side has been identified as 28-year-old Laquante M. Smith.
Smith was standing outside about 12:20 a.m. in the 3100 block of West Lexington when shots rang out, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
He was struck multiple times in the “lower extremities,” and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he died at 2:42 a.m., authorities said. Smith was a resident of Lawndale.
