Man found with fatal gunshot wounds in Princeton Park street identified as Dautreau Bates

A man found shot to death in the Princeton Park neighborhood late Thursday on the Far South Side has been identified as Dautreau P. Bates, but police have few details about the shooting.

At 11:50 p.m., officers responding to a shooting found the 29-year-old Bates with a head wound, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He was lying in the street next to a vehicle in the 200 block of West 95th Street, police said.

Bates was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he died at 12:26 a.m. Friday, authorities said. He lived about two blocks away from where he was shot.

The circumstances of the shooting were unknown, police said. No one was in custody.
