Marvin Hines was shot to death late Saturday while driving in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.
About 10:40 p.m., the 39-year-old Hines was driving west in the 300 block of West 57th Street, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
That’s when someone fired shots, striking him multiple times in the torso, police said. It was not known if the shots came from the street or another vehicle.
Hines’ vehicle then struck a fence, authorities said. Officers eventually found him, still in the vehicle, and he was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:19 p.m., authorities said.
He lived several blocks away in the same neighborhood.
