Angelo Terrell of west suburban Bellwood was fatally shot Tuesday afternoon in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.
The 25-year-old Terrell was standing outside at 3:38 p.m. in the 300 block of South Kilbourn, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
A male suspect walked up, pulled out a handgun and opened fire, police said. The shooter was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.
Terrell was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead less than 30 minutes later at 4 p.m., according to police and the medical examiner’s office.
No one was in custody early Wednesday as Area North detectives conduct a homicide investigation.
