Juan Vargas was killed in a shooting Friday evening in the Little Village neighborhood on the Southwest Side.
About 7:10 p.m., the 27-year-ld Vargas was in the 4000 block of West 25th Place, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Someone came up to him and began shooting, police said.
Vargas suffered a gunshot wound to his head and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he died at 7:53 p.m., authorities said. He lived in the West Elsdon neighborhood.
Area Central detectives were investigating.
