49-year-old Maurice Robinson fatally shot in West Garfield Park neighborhood

A 49-year-old man, Maurice Robinson, was killed and a second was wounded in a West Garfield Park neighborhood drive-by shooting last Monday.

Just after 5 p.m., Robinson and a 26-year-old man were in the first block of South Pulaski when a silver sedan drove by and someone inside opened fire and then drove off, Chicago Police said.

Robinson, of the Austin neighborhood, was shot multiple times and taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:28 p.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The younger man was shot in the leg and was also taken to Stroger, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
