Dontae Simmons was shot to death during an argument Monday morning in the Grand Crossing neighborhood on the South Side.
Simmons, 29, was arguing with someone who then shot him in the face about 9 a.m. in the 1100 block of East 73rd Street, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Simmons, who lived in the Washington Park neighborhood, was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 10:13 a.m., authorities said.
An autopsy Tuesday found Simmons died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. His death was ruled a homicide.
No one is in custody as Area Central detectives were conducting a homicide investigation.
