Lavonshay Cooper , 22, of the 4200 block of West Cortez, was shot while riding in the back seat of a vehicle in the northbound lanes of the Dan Ryan Expressway (Interstate 90-94) between the 18th Street and Canal Street exits about 2 a.m. Sunday, Illinois State Police said. The driver, who was not injured, drove to Rush University Medical Center, where Coooper was pronounced dead. The front seat passenger fled the scene and another man in the back seat was wounded. He was treated at Stroger Hospital and released. State police had no description of the shooters or the car they were in.
