A man died Thursday evening after he was shot in the head in the Austin neighborhood, authorities said.
Vincent Kelly, 56, was shot at his home in the 1800 block of North Natchez Avenue about 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday, authorities said.
The shooting was originally thought to be a suicide, said police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro, but detectives determined that someone else shot the man.
Kelly was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where he died at 7:19 p.m. on Thursday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
