A man found stabbed to death in a Southwest Side home Tuesday morning has been identified.
Police responded to the home in the 6000 block of South Kolmar Avenue about 10:50 a.m. Tuesday and found the person unresponsive, police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said.
Ismael Rangel, 38, was dead at the scene and had suffered some sort of “head trauma,” a spokesman for the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office said. His home address was not immediately known.
An autopsy Wednesday found he died of multiple stab and incised wounds, and ruled his death a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.
Area Central detectives are investigating, but no arrests have been made as of Wednesday evening, police said.
