A 31-year-old man who was shot in the head Sunday night on the South Side has died.
Brandon Williams was in a parked vehicle in the 8000 block of South Woodlawn Avenue, when two gunmen walked up and opened fire on him about 11:10 p.m. in the Avalon Park neighborhood, police said.
Williams, who lived just a few blocks away in the 8000 block of South Dante Avenue, was mortally wounded when a bullet struck him in the head, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. The two gunmen then fled on foot, police said.
Williams was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital where he died at 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, according to the medical examiner’s office.
No one was in custody on Tuesday as Area South detectives continued to investigate.
