Craig Bryan was held without bond Saturday for allegedly gunning down Keith Sutton in June in the Austin neighborhood.

Bryan, 23, of the 400 block of West Washington Street in Oak Park, was charged with one count of first-degree murder, authorities said.

Bryan allegedly followed Sutton through a park in the 5700 block of West Bloomingdale Avenue about 10:15 a.m. June 2 and shot him once in the head and once in the back, authorities said.

Sutton, 24, of the 1700 block of North Monitor Avenue, died in hospice care at Westlake Community Hospital at 7:50 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Bryan was initially charged with aggravated battery, but charges were upgraded to murder after Sutton died, authorities said.

On Saturday, Bryan was ordered held without bond.
