Brandon Torres died Monday night after being shot in the head early Sunday on the South Side.
Torres, 21, was in the backseat of a vehicle in the 1600 block of West 44th Street when a gunman on the street started firing into the vehicle about 2:10 p.m. Sunday, authorities said.
Torres, of the 4700 block of South Halsted Street, was shot in the head and taken to John John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he died at 10:17 p.m. Monday, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Area Central detectives are investigating.
