Deonte Womack was killed in a Tuesday afternoon shooting in the South Shore neighborhood that left another man seriously wounded.
Womack, 21, was shot about 12:20 p.m. in the 7100 block of South Paxton Avenue, authorities said.
Womack, of the 6900 block of South Paxton Avenue, died at Northwestern Memorial Hospital at 2:52 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
A 22-year-old man was also wounded in the shooting and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious condition, police said.
Area Central detectives are investigating.
