A 66-year-old man was fatally shot in an apparent robbery Saturday afternoon in the Gage Park neighborhood, police said.
Herbert Goode was shot in the chest about 2 p.m. Saturday in the 2300 block of West 57th Street, authorities said.
The shooting “appeared to be robbery related,” said Officer Veejay Zala, a police spokesman.
Goode died less than an hour later at Mount Sinai Hospital, according to the Cook County Medical examiner’s office.
Nobody has been charged for the murder.
Area South detectives are investigating.
