Juan Mercado was shot to death in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood Sunday evening.
Mercado, 25, was sitting on a front porch in the 2300 block of North Melvina Avenue when he was shot in the lower left side about 6:45 p.m. Sunday, authorities said.
Mercado, of the 2200 block of North Mulligan Avenue, was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where he died less than an hour later, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Nobody has been charged for the murder.
Area North detectives are investigating.
