A 60-year-old man was found shot and stabbed to death inside a Near West Side apartment Monday night.
Emergency crews responding to a fire alarm that activated in an apartment building in the 100 block of North Wood Street found Robert Smith lying face down about 9 p.m. Monday, authorities said.
Smith, who lived on the block, had been shot and stabbed multiple times, authorities said. He was declared dead at the scene.
Nobody has been charged for the murder.
Area Central detectives are investigating.
