Sherrell M. Wayne was fatally shot in the Austin community Monday night.
Wayne, 37, was sitting in the driver’s seat of a car parked in the 5100 block of West Crystal Street when a gunman walked up and opened fire about 9:35 p.m., authorities said.
After being shot in the neck, Wayne attempted to drive to his home in the nearby 5100 block of West Potomac Avenue, where he died at the scene, authorities said.
Nobody has been charged for the murder.
Area North detectives are investigating.
